Administrative Core (AC)
Goals:
This Project EXPORT proposal from the University of Pittsburgh will
focus on "Increasing community capacity for participation
in health promotion and disease prevention research and interventions."
To accomplish the goal of the center and its objectives, the Administrative
Core (AC) of the University of Pittsburgh Project EXPORT Center
will provide the essential programmatic leadership and oversight
for all other Center cores and pilot projects. The objectives of
the AC include:
Objective 1: Coordinate and ensure quality control over
all EXPORT activities, including cores, community collaboration,
and training activities.
Objective 2: Provide administrative support and fiscal management
for the cores and pilot projects.
Objective 3: Promote and monitor progress in the dissemination
of research findings.
Objective 4: Provide infrastructure support for faculty
career development and resources for investigators new to the field
of minority health and health disparity research.
Objective 5: Provide research education and training opportunities.
Objective 6: Promote the Pittsburgh EXPORT Center as a regional
resource and national model on minority health through dissemination
of research findings and consultation to treatment providers, policy
decision makers and other interested community members.
Objective 7: Develop, update, and maintain EXPORT policies
and procedures to ensure adherence to ethical guidelines for participation
of human subjects in research.
The Administrative Core narrative is presented in two sections.
In section one, we provide an overview of the AC with a special
