Pilot Projects and Feasibility Studies Core
Goal:
The primary goal for the Pilot Projects and Feasibility Studies
Core (hereafter the PC) is to develop the capacity for community-based
participatory research studies that address minority health and
health disparities in an ethical, innovative, scientifically sound
and community focused manner. Therefore, our objectives are:
Objective 1: Work with community partners, the CRAB, and
investigators to create a set of principles that will foster participatory
research at the University of Pittsburgh.
Objective 2: Activate and prepare potential pilot project
investigators to submit high quality proposals that meet the principles
developed by the PC.
Objective 3: Create a review process that funds 2 high quality
new pilot projects or feasibility studies per year that address
community concerns about areas of health disparities or the determinants
of such disparities.
Objective 4: Link the PC's call for new proposals to activities
of the Training Core, the
Research cores, and the Community Outreach and Information Dissemination
Core.
