Shared Resource Core

Goals:

The major goal of the Shared Resource Core (SRC) will be to provide an infrastructure that assures consistent, high quality research for all studies carried out through the Pittsburgh EXPORT Center, to serve as a resource for selecting and developing measures appropriate for studying the health of minority populations and community capacity, and to provide methodological consultation and training to EXPORT investigators, trainees and community partners. Specific objectives include:

Objective 1: Provide study design expertise to Center investigators and to provide data management infrastructure and quality assurance for all data collected for EXPORT studies

Objective 2: Provide measurement expertise and develop a library of valid, reliable measures related to health disparities, community capacity, community indicators and social context factors that can be used in EXPORT studies

Objective 3: Provide data analysis consultation for individual projects, and provide data analysis support for study investigations.

Objective 4: To utilize Geographic Information Systems to create mapping in support of projects and studies in other cores.

Objective 5: Develop and deliver training sessions and materials on research and measurement to the Training Core for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty, and as appropriate community partners.
